ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ، هَذَا فِيدْيُو جَدِيدٌ وَهُوَ مُوَجَّهٌ لِلِٱسْتِمَاعِ وَٱلْيَوْمَ إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللّٰهُ سَيَكُونُ حَوْلَ قِصَّةٍ.
As-salāmu ʿalaykum, hādhā fīdyū jadīdun wahuwa muwajjahun lil-istimāʿi wa-al-yawma in shā'a Allāhu sayakūnu ḥawla qiṣṣatin.

قِصَّةُ تْشِيرْنُوبِيلَ وَهِيَ مَدِينَةٌ حَدَثَتْ فِيهَا كَارِثَةٌ فِي ٱلْمَاضِي، فَسَنَتَحَدَّثُ عَنْ هَذِهِ ٱلْقِصَّةِ بِإِذْنِ ٱللّٰهِ وَسَنَرَى كُلَّ ٱلتَّفَاصِيلِ، إِلَى ٱلْقِصَّةِ.
Qiṣṣatu Tshirnūbīla wa hiya madīnatun ḥadathat fīhā kārithatun fī al-māḍī, fa-sanataḥaddathu ʿan hādhihi al-qiṣṣati bi-idhni Allāhi wa sanarā kulla at-tafāṣīli, ilā al-qiṣṣati.
The story of Chernobyl, which is a city where a disaster happened in the past, so we will talk about this story, God willing, and we will see all the details—let's go to the story.

فِي شِمَالِ أُوكْرَانْيَا كَانَتْ هُنَاكَ مَدِينَةٌ صَغِيرَةٌ تُسَمَّى بْرِيبْيَاتْ، كَانَتْ بْرِيبْيَاتْ مَدِينَةً حَدِيثَةً وَجَمِيلَةً وَكَانَ يَعِيشُ فِيهَا آلَافُ ٱلنَّاسِ،
Fī shimāli Ūkrānyā kānat hunāka madīnatun ṣaghīratun tusammā Brībyāt, kānat Brībyāt madīnatan ḥadīthatan wa jamīlatan wa kāna yaʿīshu fīhā ālāfu an-nāsi,
In northern Ukraine, there was a small city called Pripyat. Pripyat was a modern and beautiful city, and thousands of people lived there.

كَانَ أَغْلَبُ سُكَّانِ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَعْمَلُونَ فِي مَحَطَّةِ تْشِيرْنُوبِيلَ لِلطَّاقَةِ ٱلنَّوَوِيَّةِ، كَانَتِ ٱلْمَحَطَّةُ قَرِيبَةً جِدًّا مِنَ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ وَكَانَتْ مُهِمَّتُهَا إِنْتَاجُ ٱلْكَهْرَبَاءِ لِلنَّاسِ.
Kāna aghlabu sukkāni al-madīnati yaʿmalūna fī maḥaṭṭati Tshirnūbīl liṭ-ṭāqati an-nawawiyyati, kānati al-maḥaṭṭatu qarībatan jiddan mina al-madīnati wa kānat muhimatuhā intāju al-kahrabā'i lin-nāsi.
Most of the city's residents worked at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The plant was very close to the city, and its mission was to produce electricity for people.

كَانَتْ تْشِيرْنُوبِيلَ تَحْتَوِي عَلَى أَرْبَعَةِ مُفَاعِلَاتٍ نَوَوِيَّةٍ، وَٱلْمُفَاعِلُ ٱلنَّوَوِيُّ هُوَ مَكَانٌ تُسْتَخْدَمُ فِيهِ ٱلطَّاقَةُ ٱلنَّوَوِيَّةُ لِإِنْتَاجِ ٱلْكَهْرَبَاءِ.
Kānat Tshirnūbīl taḥtawī ʿalā arbaʿati mufāʿilātin nawawiyyatin, wa-al-mufāʿilu an-nawawiyyu huwa makānun tustakhdamu fīhi aṭ-ṭāqatu an-nawawiyyatu li-intāji al-kahrabā'i.
Chernobyl contained four nuclear reactors, and a nuclear reactor is a place where nuclear energy is used to produce electricity.

كَانَ ٱلْعَمَلُ فِي ٱلْمُفَاعِلِ يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى دِقَّةٍ كَبِيرَةٍ لِأَنَّ أَيَّ خَطَإٍ قَدْ يُسَبِّبُ مُشْكِلَةً كَبِيرَةً.
Kāna al-ʿamalu fī al-mufāʿili yaḥtāju ilā diqqatin kabīratin li'anna ayya khaṭa'in qad yusabbibu mushkilatan kabīratan.
Working in the reactor required great precision, because any mistake could cause a big problem.
