No. The file opens locally in your browser and is never uploaded. When you tap "Detect text" an image of that one page is sent for text recognition, and when you translate, the selected sentence is sent to the AI. Nothing else leaves your browser, and nothing is stored for anonymous visitors.
Yes — with daily limits on the parts that cost us money: page text detection, new sentence translations, and new word lookups. Anything already in the shared caches (words and sentences anyone has looked up before) is always free and doesn't count. Murājaʿa subscribers get much higher limits, plus a saved library with resume positions.
Yes — that's the main point. A born-digital PDF is tappable immediately; a scanned page becomes tappable after one "Detect text" pass. The recognition is tuned for Arabic, including classical, vowelled text.
