Arabic grammar, in every app on your Mac

Select Arabic anywhere — a browser, a PDF, a book, a subtitle — press ⌥⌘E, and a small panel shows the sentence analysed word by word.

The app is built and working — waiting on Apple's code signing before downloads open.

How it works

Select text and press ⌥⌘E. The panel appears next to your selection with every word analysed and the reason for each case. Click a word for its breakdown: root, prefixes and suffixes, and its grammatical role.
Scanned page? Press ⌥⌘R. Drag a box around the text. It's recognised on your own machine, then shown to you to check before anything is analysed.
Or just paste it. From the menu bar icon, or from the Services menu after selecting text — neither of which needs any permission at all.

What it does that the extension can't

The Chrome extension only works inside web pages. The app works anywhere you can select text: Preview, Pages, Kindle, Telegram, even a terminal.

And the one that matters: scanned pages

Scanned books, PDFs that are images rather than text, subtitles burned into video — the app reads them with on-device text recognition. The image never leaves your Mac. Only the recognised text is sent, and only after you've looked at it.

Your account comes with you

It works without an account, on the free daily allowance. One click from the connect page and it uses your subscription's allowance instead.

Requirements and permissions

macOS 14 or later — Apple silicon and Intel, under 5 MB.
Accessibility — to read what you selected, at the moment you press the shortcut, and nothing else. Optional: the paste box and the Services menu work without it.
Screen Recording — required by macOS only for the ⌥⌘R region capture.
No analytics and no tracking of any kind. Privacy policy.
